Hi all i am looking for a head gasket as think mine has gone as went bang on friday and went to the garage and done compresion test and low on 6 or none :/ but need to get the head off so if any one can help :)

just spent a day or so creating the show to top with the go on this one !!

6 litre v8 coupled with a supercharger equaling 600 bhp and a soundtrack to die for !!

Hi all,

Unfortunately following my thread on taking the car to Southern California and the resounding NO, its not possible. I'm having to consider selling it.

Its a 1998 R33GTR
67500 miles
I'm the 3rd owner from new, it was imported into the UK when it was 6mths old.
It has a Full service history 90% of this is Abbey Motorsport. I have the stamped up book and a box file full of receipts. Plus all old MOT's

The car has a full HKS exhaust system, Apexi twin Airfilters and a polished / baffled twin turbo pipe that I bought from the shop on here and fitted myself.

Its dark metalic blue on original wheels that are still in great condition. Obviously, spec 3 twin air bag interior, halogen headlights and the engine block is the same red as that in the R34.

The car is in great condition, no corrosion anywhere. The jacking points are like new as is the interior, no holes or additional guages anywhere, its exactly how Nissan sold it.

There are no faults at with the car, everything works as it should mechanically and electronically.

The car is currently with me in France. I can and will bring it back to the UK for a sale but initially I'll send photos and answer any questions on request.

I'm only selling because I'm moving to Southern California, I took over 6mths to find this car as I wanted a completely unmolested example. This car is great and I will be genuinely sorry to see it go.

What determines if I need to up grade my lifters ?
From my understanding rb26 lifters are already solid lifters therefore no need to upgrade ?

I will be running double springs and 272 cams
Will stock lifters handle what I got ?

After a 3 hour drive to severn valley motorsport yesterday we arrived and Amar was waiting at the door for us and greeted us with a hot drink. He then took us into town to do some shopping while my car was serviced and re mapped and a clutch learn. We picked the car up a few hours later and the car was done. It now drives like a different car!!::):):) Thanks to all the staff for making us feel welcome and answering all our questions. Maybe the staff at my local GTR dealership should take a day off and go down there to learn how a customer should be treated!!!!!:(:(:( Big thanks again to Amar and Kevan and I know who will be getting my money in future for any work needed. So I got my friend to paint correct my Range Rover :

First off he washed it, using 2 buckets for some reason :confused:





Then he used some mud of some sort to remove any debris (I missed this bit as I was ordering his dinner).

Then he took some sand paper to it, while commenting that whoever had done a repair on the rear quarter should be hung by their wang - personally I thought I'd done a good job!

He then used something to compound the wet flatting - for ease I'll refer to it as a compound (it was a 3m product)



He then used some more 3m stuff to polish the car



While I got to work on the interior - no pics as I was shattered from my excertion!!

He then done some more stuff



and then after all that polishing, he goes and washes it again :confused:



He then used what he called a sealer and I took some more pictures.









I then drove it the 10 miles home and it got covered in shyte because it looked like this outside



All in all though I was more than pleased with the result and the interior is cleaner than it has ever been lol.

Bit battered but only really the bit that you can't see underneath.

Great induction sound and agree'd by most to offer both the best performance and filtration of any filter for the GTR.

Bought an eisenmann back box for my car which is now forsale. Eisenmann make systems for porsche and AMG. Eisenmann exhaust systems feature an aggressive tone, and targets the luxury European car owner, who wants to be noticed. They are big for aftermarket exhaust systems for most german cars, BMW, PORCHASE, MERCs, AUDI r8 etc.

The back box has seen about 2K miles.

Im selling because this box will handle anything under 620hp. I did a dyno run after upgrading to stage 4 and my car output was 617hp & 650ft/lb.

I was told that the car seems to peak alittle early (5800-6000rpm) this was due to the exhaust restrictions. So there could be a potential 5-15hp gain to be had in changing it.

So spoke to Iain (who did advise just to use the miltek back box in the first place) he said to switch to miltek becuase they tested it and he know its good for upto 700hp. Anyway long story short - this exhaust if off my car and im running the Miltek back box now.

Any one running less than 620hp (all stage 1,stage2,stage3) this exhaust would be a good opportunity for you. I ran it along with a ypipe and it sounded amazing! my local HPC said everytime I drive by they would know its me (that how loud and distinctive the sound is). If I had to describe the sound I would say it sounds like a normal ypipe'd GTR when under 3500 revs after which you get this loud Clashing/swishing sound (when you push the happy peddle it makes people walking on the pavement JUMP!). Inside the car the exhaust complements to the turbo sound and it sounds awesome.

Iain has heard the system when he done a few power runs so feel free to ask him what he thought of the system (it was the first time he heard that system on a GTR)

anyway enough of that - Im very sad to see this system go as it really is a good system. If it doesn't sell I might even put the system back on my car once my EGO allows for the 5-10hp restriction.

Guys took a punt and bought some Vspec Exhaust tips from:

GT-RR


These tips look Excellent. I know they fit the standard back box (becuase they were designed to fit GT-Rs) but I have recently had to upgrade to Miltek Backbox when I went from stage 2 to stage4. I'm sure I can still make the fit the Miltek back box but i'd have to cut and bend the back box, Which I have decided not to do.

TO confirm : if your are running a y-pipe only, then this will fit your car.

The price online is in USD and does not include shipping or the custom duty and taxes. It kills me to say all in these tips cost £1225-£1275. All I know is if they did fit it would have added that Xfactor to the rear end of my GTR.

Anyway offers invited but please understand these are brand new and never been fitted. (as a guide I would like to think saving £400-500 is good enought for someone to consider. so offers around £800)

Cannot find a for sure answer anywhere. Some say you subtract, some say you add. I have seen 2.28ms, and I have seen .79ms. Currently I have them at 1.15 at 14 volts, and they idle smothly but at 12.1 afr. If I adjust latency to get the idle to a 14 afr the motor starts to get rough. I do have cams but ony 264s.

Anyone have good latency numbers? Thanks.
